Store Manager

Position available in: Vaughan (1033 Edgeley Blvd.)

What we are looking for:

• 4+ years of experience working as a Retail Store Manager or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in sales and customer service
• Experience and/or knowledge of interior design (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (required)
• Exceptional organizational skills with task prioritization, multi-tasking and strong time management techniques
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• High level of personal integrity and energy
• Must be able to work with little supervision and must be self-directed

What will you do?

The Store Manager role has many diverse and interesting responsibilities, the primary ones are outlined below:

• Ability to assess and make changes to business operations to ensure optimal performance
• Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.
• Create a well-oiled sale team within a store including hiring and releasing staff as needed
• Train staff and conduct reviews when needed
• Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
• Creating schedules for employee's month in advance
• Confirming and submitting bi-monthly payroll
• Maintain accurate records of requests for information and obtain purchase orders and/or deposits in a timely manner
• Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes.
• Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
• Act as our store’s representative and set an example for our staff
• Create and maintain a cohesive working environment for all staff
• Welcome all walk-in customers and serve as the first point of contact
• Leadership that demonstrates a high level of customer service to assist in client décor needs
• Possess design expertise and excellent product knowledge in the industry
• Administer, verify, and communicate accurate and detailed product information to customers.
• Maintain relationships with existing client list; develop new clients through various industry sources
• Ensure showroom cleanliness is maintained to guarantee wonderful client experience
• Ensure product inventory is well displayed and up to date throughout the store
• Maintain employee work expectations and encourage for personal growth
• Other duties as required

Sales Associate

Full-time & Part-time positions in: Barrie, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Toronto, Vaughan and Kitchener.

• Welcome all customers and serve as the first point of contact for at Area Rug Shop showroom
• Designers that demonstrate a high level of customer service to assist in client decor needs
• Possess design expertise and excellent product knowledge in the industry
• Administer, verify, and communicate accurate and detailed product information to customers.
• Assist customers with design recommendations and solutions.
• Maintain relationships with existing client list; develop new clients through various industry sources
• Ensure showroom cleanliness and neatness is maintained to guarantee wonderful client experience
• Maintain accurate records of requests for information and obtain purchase orders and/or deposits in a timely manner
• Assist Reception with answering incoming telephone calls
• Other duties as required

What type of experience and skills do you have?

• 3+ years experience in sales, customer service or in a related position
• Experience and/or knowledge of interior design
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
